The album has already received a lot of coverage while breaking iTunes sales records at the same time (it sold about 290,000 copies in its first week of release). But the album has now become the focus of a possible law suit due to an uncleared sample used on the track \u201cThe Joy\u201d. You can read about the lawsuit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/music\/2011\/aug\/25\/jay-z-kanye-west?CMP=twt_gu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. Sampling has always been a controversial issue for hip-hop artists. Earlier in the year, I wrote an essay on the topic for one of my Intellectual Property Law subject at university.
