Media Defamation Claims

  • Concerns Notices: We prepare and issue a Concerns Notice pursuant to the Defamation Act 2005 to commence the claim. 
  • Seeking remedies: We seek remedies which can include a retraction, an apology, an undertaking, payment of legal costs and/or compensation, while guiding you on the realistic prospects of success.
  • Negotiating settlements: We negotiate with a view to achieving a favourable outcome following the Concerns Notice, without the need to commence Court proceedings.

Court Proceedings: If the matter cannot be resolved, we advise you thoroughly on the Court process, including your prospects of success and the likely costs involved. We commence legal proceedings in the appropriate Court and work closely with expert defamation barristers to represent you in your case.
